[ wä ]

to come

[ dé ]

to take

wä dé means

come take.

Two words in birifor, a language from the South-West region of Burkina-Faso, a small enclaved country in West-Africa.

This expression is an invitation to someone to come and take “something”. Behind, there is this idea of a gift. A gift to someone you love or to yourself. Two words full of meaning and always filled with memories and affection.

wä dé is a project, not a product, who collaborates with African artisans and creatives. We are strongly devoted to support local, independent, small businesses around Africa to showcase their treasures always made with love and passion.

We follow our own rules and are impervious to trends.

Our objects, mostly in limited edition are slowly made in respect of time, artisans, materials, seasons and Mother Nature.

We really value our objects and we are committed to putting sustainability at the core of everything we do, throwing away when love is gone is not an optionWe believe objects live several lives and have plenty of stories to tell through their shapes and imperfections. It doesn’t matter whether these stories are long, short, happy or sad, and will only die when the object : shatter into pieces*.

Never before.

*Until then, please cherish your objects :)
