Vintage little Baoulé’s chair from Ivory Coast from one of the rare ethnic groups in Africa which uses the assembly technique for their furnitures.

The Baoulé chair is reserved for the Poro, a secret society. They have been designed with a straight back and gifted by wives or female relatives to men after initiation ceremonies to symbolise their new social standing and dignity.
