In 1960, Sory Sanlé opened his portrait studio “Volta Photo” the year his country gained independence from France.

With his Rolleiflex on, the photographer documented the fast evolution of Bobo-Dioulasso, portraying the city’s inhabitants with passion, energy and wit.

This book published in 2017 was the first released of Sory Sanlé’s work.
